Job summary

Movement Group is seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of SAP solutions across a complex multi-country business in Ireland. The role combines deep SAP architecture expertise with finance integration and governance ownership.

You will drive end-to-end SAP programs, partner with Finance, manage external delivery partners, and ensure robust data integrity, security, and compliance in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in SAP architecture, design, and delivery with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of FI/CO, MM and SD modules.
• Solid accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with multi-country SAP implementations and agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP solution design across FI/CO, MM, SD modules.
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP architecture and identify opportunities for standardisation and automation.
• Oversee SAP implementation projects from requirements gathering through go-live and handover.
• Manage external SAP consultants and systems integrators within timelines and budgets.
• Develop and maintain solution documentation, technical specifications, and change records.
• Partner with Finance to ensure month-end close, consolidation, and reporting are supported in SAP.
• Support IT audit requirements, governance, and disaster recovery standards.

SAP Solution Architect - Permanent - Ireland

A large international organisation is seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to take a lead role in designing and delivering SAP solutions across a complex multi-country business environment.

The position combines deep SAP architecture expertise with strong finance and accounting knowledge, with a particular focus on automation, standardisation, and business process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP solution design across SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, and specialist operational modules
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP architecture and identify opportunities for process standardisation and automation
• Lead and support SAP implementation and transformation projects from requirements gathering through design, configuration, UAT, parallel runs, go-live, and handover
• Manage external SAP consultants and systems integrators, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines and budgets
• Develop and maintain solution documentation, technical specifications, and change records
• Partner closely with Finance to ensure processes such as month-end close, consolidation, and reporting are effectively supported within SAP
• Support finance-led process redesign and continuous improvement initiatives
• Define and maintain SAP governance standards, data integrity controls, and access management principles
• Support IT audit requirements, business continuity, high availability, and disaster recovery standards

Required Experience

• 7–10+ years of SAP architecture, solution design, and project delivery experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility
• Strong SAP architecture expertise, particularly across FI/CO, MM and/or SD
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience working on complex, cross-functional SAP programmes
• Experience delivering multi-country SAP implementations
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience managing multiple initiatives and external delivery partners
• Experience working within an agile delivery environment
• SAP certification would be advantageous
• An accounting qualification would also be advantageous
• Relevant industry experience within a complex retail, distribution, or asset-intensive environment would be beneficial but is not essential
• Willingness to travel when required
