About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director – Sales to join a growing data centre infrastructure organisation, based from its Dublin office, with responsibility for strategic Multi‑Tenant Data Centre (MTDC) and channel accounts across the EMEA region.
The successful candidate will lead strategic account development, driving revenue growth, profitability and customer engagement across a portfolio of major data centre customers.
A key component of the position will be leading an AEC (Architects, Engineers & Contractors) engagement programme, establishing relationships at the earliest stages of the data centre project lifecycle and ensuring the organisation is positioned effectively throughout the design, procurement and delivery process.
This is a senior commercial leadership position requiring strong knowledge of the data centre market, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage confidently with technical, operational, procurement and executive‑level stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic MTDC Key Account function from Dublin across assigned EMEA accounts.
- Develop and execute account strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and growth objectives.
- Lead the AEC engagement programme, developing relationships with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors.
- Identify new opportunities across the European data centre market.
- Develop relationships with major data centre operators, developers, contractors and strategic partners.
- Promote a diverse portfolio of data centre infrastructure solutions, including structured cabling, physical security, electrical infrastructure, high‑density liquid cooling, networking, IoT and Pro‑AV.
- Position integrated services covering design, end‑to‑end project deployment, product enhancement and rack & roll solutions.
- Develop partnerships across internal business units to create integrated customer solutions.
- Build relationships with strategic vendors, suppliers and alliance partners to generate additional sales opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver sales bids, proposals, presentations, account plans and customer‑facing solutions.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Manage post‑sale issues and coordinate with internal teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Utilise CRM and sales management systems to manage pipelines, opportunities, forecasts and account activity.
- Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging technologies within the data centre sector.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies and account plans.
- Deliver annual sales and profitability targets.
- Forecast sales volumes and profitability across existing and prospective accounts.
- Establish and expand strategic supplier and partner relationships.
- Provide regular commercial forecasts and market intelligence to senior leadership.
- Maintain strong technical and commercial knowledge of the evolving data centre infrastructure market.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an established senior sales or business development professional with significant experience within the data centre, technology infrastructure, electrical, networking, MEP or associated infrastructure sectors.
You will ideally possess:
- 7+ years' experience in professional sales within a relevant industry.
- 5+ years' experience leading teams, programmes or strategic accounts at national, regional or international level.
- Strong understanding of the European data centre market, including current trends and future developments.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and achieving ambitious commercial targets.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic sales and account plans.
- Strong understanding of business and commercial management principles.
- Experience managing complex enterprise or strategic customer accounts.
- Strong knowledge of the competitive landscape and ability to identify emerging market opportunities.
- Proven ability to build long‑term relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and technology partners.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written, verbal and analytical communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical, commercial and executive stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and CRM skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Fluent English is essential; additional European languages would be beneficial.
- Willingness to travel extensively across EMEA, approximately 25–50%.
