Job summary

Avoca in Dublin city centre is seeking an experienced Sales Assistant to join our Avoca Suffolk Street team. You will deliver a high standard of customer service, handle till operations, and contribute to a welcoming in-store experience across our food, retail and gift ranges.

The role is permanent, full-time, on-site at our flagship store. The ideal candidate will have prior retail experience, strong product knowledge, excellent timekeeping, and a passion for customer service.

Avoca operates 13 Stores locations, a Central Bakery & Kitchen, Central Stores, and a Weaving Production Mill. After all this time, the ethos of Avoca remains the same. We have a host of award-winning cafes and restaurants, Food Markets crammed with artisanal ingredients from near and far, as well as a best-selling range of Avoca cookbooks. There are also gardens to explore at many of our stores, as well as florists and garden centres. The list goes on. And all of this from a modest hand weaving mill, established in a rural Irish village in 1723.

We're looking for an experienced Sales Assistant to join our team in our gorgeous city center location, Avoca Suffolk Street. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be available to start immediately. This role is permanent full-time.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – A high standard of customer service is required for the role, Including assisting customers in person, via phone etc.
• Previous experience working in a retail setting desirable.
• Till use – scanning items and taking payments, managing queues in a timely manner.
• Good food/retail Product knowledge
• Opening and closing duties as outlined by your line manager

Requirements

• Cleanliness/Organization is essential in this role
• Experience working in a physically demanding environment
• Excellent timekeeping is a key requirement
• Effective teamwork and communication skills is essential
