Job summary

Hyreus is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for an EMEA-focused role based in Dublin, Ireland. The role oversees health and safety across projects in a technical engineering environment with regular European travel (approximately 2–3 trips per month to data centre sites).

Job description

Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced Safety Manager for an EMEA-focused role based in Dublin, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional to take responsibility for health and safety across projects and operations within a technical engineering environment. The role will involve regular travel across Europe, with approximately 2-3 trips per month to data centre sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures and management systems in line with Irish and applicable EMEA legislation, including ISO 45001 and, where applicable, ISO 14001.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews, including reviewing subcontractor RAMS, permit-to-work procedures and LOTO requirements across construction, commissioning and service activities.
• Deliver H&S inductions, toolbox talks and training, while managing permits, statutory requirements, hazardous materials, construction waste, occupational health and emergency response planning.
• Provide H&S leadership across project, engineering, service and contractor teams, maintain accurate documentation, investigate incidents and near misses, implement corrective actions and conduct European site visits approximately 2-3 times per month.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, alongside a NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. Construction-specific NEBOSH would be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' EHS/H&S experience within construction, ideally EHS or Facilities Management, with strong knowledge of Irish/EU legislation, audits, inspections, risk assessments and EHS programme development. Data centre construction experience is highly advantageous, with HVAC, cooling or mechanical engineering experience beneficial.
• Strong contractor management, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work across multinational teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office, confident producing H&S documentation, and willing to travel across Europe 2-3 times per month. Full driving licence required
