Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment is seeking a Civil Engineer / Project Manager to oversee road maintenance contracts with Kerry and Cork County Councils in Ireland.

You will manage day-to-day operations, costs, crews and materials, coordinate sub-contractors, monitor progress and enforce safety and quality standards.

A full, clean driving licence is mandatory; a company vehicle, pension, laptop and phone are provided, with salary based on experience in the €60-€65k range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of construction management experience with road projects.
• Strong proficiency in project management tools.
• Full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations
• Manage site resources (labor, materials, equipment)
• Coordinate sub-contractors and suppliers
• Ensure work aligns with project plans, specs, and schedules
• Monitor progress and update senior management
• Enforce health and safety protocols
• Conduct site inspections and address safety concerns
• Ensure quality standards are met and address issues
• Maximize productivity, minimize waste, and track costs
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and stakeholders
• Lead site meetings and collaborate on budgets and cost control
