Job summary

SSA Consulting Group in Dublin seeks a Roads Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team working on national roads, highways, and motorway junctions across Ireland.

You will develop detailed road designs, use AutoCAD Civil 3D or OpenRoads, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with the team while enjoying hybrid work and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (Level 8/9) is required.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status is expected.
• Experience in a UK/Ireland consultancy environment is essential.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for new roads, highways, and transport networks.
• Use design software and engineering tools for accurate road layout and alignment.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national standards and regulations.
• Develop drainage systems to manage surface water runoff and prevent road damage.
• Integrate culverts, gutters, and stormwater management into roadway design.

Our Client is a large scale company seeking a talented Roads Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary Team in Dublin. They operate on a wide scale of projects across Ireland e.g. National Roads, Highways, Motorway Junctions.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in a consultancy environment in UK/Ireland.
• Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Computer literate and with experience of relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads etc).
• Excellent communicational skills in written & spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for new roads, highways, and transportation networks.
• Use design software and other engineering tools for accurate road layout and alignment.
