Job summary

WSP in Ireland is seeking an Engineer with post-qualification experience to lead design and project management of road and active travel schemes, from inception through handover. Based from Dublin, Limerick or Naas, the role is client-facing and focused on delivering schemes for national transport authorities and local authorities.

You will manage multi-disciplinary inputs, mentor staff, prepare proposals and budgets, and ensure compliance with H&S and QA standards.

Qualifications

• Project management and technical delivery lead of Road or Public Transport/Active Travel schemes, with experience essential.
• Experience of contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts
• A chartered member of a relevant engineering technical institution
• Experience or knowledge of alignment and drainage design software such as Civil3D/Open Roads and WinDes preferred
• Good communication, client management and interpersonal skills are essential
• Excellent IT skills including MS Projects
• Understanding of DMURS, Traffic Signs Manual, Cycle Design Manual and TII/NTA guidelines
• Strong stakeholder management experience

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale, complexity and value.
• Liaise with clients, developing strong trusted relationships and proactively managing their expectations.
• Undertake project technical lead and reviewer roles.
• Use technical ability to develop staff.
• Prepare fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects.
• Lead and manage staff in the delivery of design drawings, specs and BOQ, supporting tender packages.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and QA standards.
