• Coordinate with international transport operators and hauliers to track movements and optimize routes.
• Oversee file costing, approve vendor invoices and manage client billing to protect margins.

A leading global freight forwarder in Dublin is hiring an experienced Road Freight Operator specializing in either road imports or road exports. Whether your expertise lies in inbound or outbound European trailer movements, this role offers operational autonomy, job stability, and clear career pathways across international road freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Road Freight Operations: Take complete ownership of European road import or road export shipments (FTL, LTL, and groupage), managing movements from initial booking straight through to final delivery across Irish and European trade lanes.
• Customs Clearance & Documentation: Prepare and submit essential transit documentation and process Irish Revenue import customs or export customs declarations in line with post-Brexit regulations.
• Freight & Transport Coordination: Partner with international transport operators, hauliers, and overseas logistics partners to track vehicle movements, optimize road freight routings, and coordinate port clearances.
• Account Management: Act as the primary operational contact for key client accounts, offering real-time shipment updates and proactive resolution for potential transit delays.
• File Financials: Oversee road freight file costing, approve vendor invoices, and manage client billing to protect margin profitability across all import or export shipments.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in European road freight forwarding operations in Ireland (focusing on road imports or road exports).
• Solid grasp of post-Brexit customs procedures, Incoterms, transit declarations, and international shipping documentation.
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard freight software (CargoWise, EDI Enterprise, or similar Transport Management Systems).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills under tight transport cutoffs.
