Job summary

Tyndall National Institute in Cork invites applications for an IC Design Engineer RF Sensor Interface to contribute to a multinational project. You will design and layout a wide-bandwidth RF low-noise amplifier, tape out and test it with the partner’s systems and integration teams.

The role requires 5 years of analogue/RF IC design experience, Cadence/Synopsys tool proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or physics.
  • Typically 5 years’ IC design experience ( analogue, mixed-signal or RF).
  • Experience with Cadence/Siemens-Mentor/Synopsys tools.
  • Experience IC layout/physical design and system integration.
  • Strong communication skills evidenced by industry work, papers or reports.

Responsibilities

  • Schematic design, simulation and analysis across PVT corners.
  • Design RF low-noise amplifier circuits and aid layout engineers.
  • Develop RF test plans and silicon evaluation strategies.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for project partner meetings.
  • Support project management and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to education and public engagement activities.
  • Carry out additional duties within the post scope.
