Job summary

Tyndall National Institute is seeking an IC Design Engineer for RF sensor interface projects in Cork, Ireland. The role covers design, layout, tapeout and silicon testing for a multinational customer, with emphasis on wide-band RF low-noise amplifiers and integrated circuit technology.

The candidate will work with the integrated circuits group, leveraging Cadence and other EDA tools, and collaborate across teams to meet stringent RF performance and reliability requirements.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in electrical/electronic engineering or related field.
• Typically 5 years’ experience in analogue, mixed-signal or RF IC design.
• Experience with IC design tooling such as Cadence, Siemens Mentor or Synopsys.

Responsibilities

• Simulate, design and layout RF low-noise amplifier circuits using Cadence and other EDA tools.
• Propose innovative circuits to meet customer specifications for RF sensor interface.
• Perform schematic design, simulation and analysis across PVT corners and operating conditions.
• Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure proper RF performance and layout considerations.
• Develop RF test plans and write test automation code for silicon evaluation.
• Prepare presentations and reports for project partner meetings.
• Support project management and education/public engagement activities.
