Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment is representing a prominent Cork retailer for a Retail Duty Manager role. You will lead the shop floor team, drive sales, maintain store standards and oversee merchandising and stock control.

The role is full-time with flexible shifts, including early mornings and late evenings, offering a hands-on, support-driven management style and a meaningful impact on day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in retail management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations to ensure efficiency and high standards.

• Lead, supervise, and develop a team to deliver excellent customer service.

• Support staff training, development and performance management.
• Balance store KPIs with cost controls and sales targets.

My client is looking to strengthen their management team by bringing in an experienced and ambitious Floor Manager who can lead and motivate the shop floor team, ensuring high standards of customer service, merchandising, stock management and overall store operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven retailer who enjoys leading people, driving sales and making a real impact on the day-to-day running of the business. You will be working alongside a highly professional retailer with a strong business background who is approachable, supportive and hands-on in their management style. The role offers a varied shift pattern, including opening, midday and closing shifts during the week and competitive salary.

• Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations, ensuring the store runs efficiently and maintains the highest standards, running promotional cycles smoothly, and addressing availability and stock storage.
• Act as a Duty Manager once to two times weekly, ensure the store closes and is prepared for the next trading day
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing strategies, and stock control to reduce waste and optimise efficiency.
• Lead, supervise, and develop a team, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, increase footfall, and boost retention.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales targets and retail KPIs.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and busy trading periods as required.
• A proactive attitude, strong sense of responsibility and willingness to support the wider management team
• Experience in stock control, merchandising and shop-floor operations.
