Blue Forge Recruitment partners with leading retailers in Ireland. They seek a seasoned Retail Store Manager for a high-volume Westmeath store, overseeing a 15,000 sq ft trading floor with over 50 colleagues and a management team of 4–8.

You will drive sales, profitability, and customer experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role requires 7–8 years in senior retail management, strong P&L experience, and the ability to lead a large team while ensuring exemplary store standards.

Qualifications

• 7-8 years of retail management experience in big-box retail.
• Proven track record of leading teams of 30+ staff and managing a store with annual sales > €6 million.
• Experience in P&L, budgeting, stock control and sales performance.
• Excellent organisational and decision-making skills in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of store performance including sales, margins, costs and KPIs.
• Lead, coach and develop the store management team and wider staff.
• Ensure policy and health & safety standards are followed throughout the store.
• Oversee stock control, inventory accuracy and shrinkage, and resolve issues.
• Drive sales through merchandising, promotions and local market knowledge.
• Manage staff rosters, payroll budgets and recruitment to meet business needs.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle escalated queries.

Following a successful 2026 for the business, they are seeking an experienced Store Manager with a background in high-volume, big-box retail to lead one of their stores in Westmeath.This is an exciting senior management opportunity within a successful, high-volume retail environment, overseeing a large trading floor of over 15,000 sq. ft. with weekly sales exceeding €200,000. You will play a key role in driving store performance, leading and developing a management team of 4-8 people and a wider team of over 50 colleagues. The focus will be on growing sales, improving profitability, maintaining excellent store standards and ensuring the team delivers a consistently outstanding customer experience.

• Oversee stock control, inventory accuracy and shrinkage, investigating and resolving any issues.
• Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, product displays and local market knowledge.
• Manage staff rosters, payroll budgets and recruitment to meet the needs of the business.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle escalated customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Handle employee relations matters, including performance management, in line with company policy.
• Report on store performance to senior management and contribute to wider business plans.

Requirements forRetail Store Manager Co. Westmeath

• Minimum 7-8 years of retail management experience in big box retail. Ideally experience already as a Store Manager or senior Deputy Store Manager, leading teams upwards of 30 staff with a background of leading other managers in stores exceeding sales more than €6 million per year.
• Proven track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
• Proven experience managing P&L, budgets, stock control and sales performance.
• Confident using retail systems and reporting tools, must be able to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen
• Excellent organisational, planning and decision-making skills, ability to work a high level in a pressured customer facing environment
• Flexible to work management shifts, including openings and closes (typically between 9am and 9pm).
