Job summary

Enable Ireland is seeking a highly-motivated Support Worker to join Lavanagh House Children’s Respite service in Cork. The role focuses on providing person-centred care to children with disabilities, in day and night respite settings, on a relief contract with variable hours.

The successful candidate will hold QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care or an equivalent qualification, have a valid driving license, be eligible to work in Ireland, and bring experience in disability support and personal

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care or Pre Nursing with 8 modules incl. disability studies or challenging behaviour.
• Comparable SNA qualification accepted.
• Year 1 of a relevant degree in Health and Social Care (e.g. Social Care, Child Care, Nursing, OT, PT).
• Full clean manual driving license and willingness to drive company vehicles.
• Be eligible to work in the state.
• Experience of supporting people with disabilities.
• Experience with behaviours of concern.
• Experience providing personal care.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred services to children with disabilities.
• Work as part of a dedicated team at Lavanagh House to deliver respite services.
