Job summary

SÁNAS COMMUNITY SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to provide safe, person-centered care to children and young people with autism, down syndrome and/or intellectual disabilities at our respite service in Dublin. You will follow individual care plans and work with the Team Leaders to support daily routines.

Responsibilities include direct personal care, communication support with visual aids, safeguarding, documentation and participation in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support or NFQ Level 7+ degree in Psychology/Social Care.
• At least 6 months experience working with children with additional needs.
• Experience providing personal care including feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care including feeding, toileting, hygiene and mobility support.
• Support daily living activities, routines and structured play.
• Assist with communication using visual supports.
• Monitor health and behaviour and report changes promptly.
• Assist with medication where trained and authorized.
• Maintain accurate daily records and care documentation.
