Job summary

Eden Social Care is recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow for a 40-hour week. The service provides a therapeutic home for children aged 6-12, focusing on safe, consistent relationships and high‑quality governance.

Successful candidates will support day-to-day care, trauma-informed practices, and collaborative care planning, while maintaining records and participating in rotating shifts. This role requires dedication to wellbeing and education support.

Qualifications

• Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related discipline is required.
• Post-qualification experience working with children and young people in social care or residential setting.
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and therapeutic support to children and young people in residential care.
• Deliver child-centred, trauma-informed care.
• Support individual care plans and promote children's education, wellbeing and life skills.
• Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work a rota that may include evenings, weekends, sleepovers and waking night shifts.
• Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role.

Eden Social Care is a children's residential provider opening a therapeutic home for young people aged 6-12 in Carlow. From the outset, this service has been designed with one guiding principle: safe, consistent relationships are the foundation of effective care, for young people and for staff. We are currently recruiting Social Care Workers who want to be part of building a high-quality service, with strong governance, reflective practice, and staff wellbeing embedded into daily operations.
