Job summary

Carton House is recruiting a Reservations Agent to join its Reservations team. This role involves taking bookings, maximising occupancy and revenue, and upselling hotel facilities. You will input guest requests, handle special arrangements and pursue sales opportunities to grow bookings.

Ideal candidates will have reservations experience in a 4/5* property, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take bookings for all bedrooms, as per Carton House standards.
• Ensure bookings are managed to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue.
• Upsell all hotel facilities at every opportunity.
• Input all guests requests into the hotel booking system accurately.
• Assist clients with any special requests.
• Ensure all correspondence is answered, recorded and filed accurately.
• Identify sales opportunities and convert into bookings.
• Consult with Reservations Manager/Director of Revenue on group/agency bookings.

Key Responsibilities

• Take bookings for all bedrooms, as per the Carton House standards.
• Ensure bookings are managed to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue.

• Assist the client with any special requests.
• Ensure all correspondence is answered, recorded and filed accurately.
• Identify all sales opportunities and effectively convert into bookings.
• Consult with the Reservations Manager/Director of Revenue in respect of group and agency bookings.

Key Requirements

• Previous Reservations experience within a 4/5* property.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, Bank Holidays, early shifts and evening shifts.
• Working knowledge of Opera.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Results driven with a strong personality and the natural ability to build rapport with people.
• Confident in communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
