Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director, Head of R&D Governance and Portfolio Management to architect and lead global R&D governance and portfolio prioritization across discovery and late-stage development. This role ensures strategic clarity, rapid decisioning, and alignment with corporate strategy.

You will partner with Finance, Project Management, and R&D leadership to optimize stage-gate processes, accelerate cycle times, and provide executive-ready materials for committees and reviews

Qualifications

• Extensive pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in R&D governance, program management, portfolio management, or R&D strategy operations.
• Stage-Gate expertise across global drug discovery, preclinical development, clinical phases, and regulatory interactions.
• Proven ability to charter and lead senior-level governance forums and influence executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Architect, lead, and optimize R&D governance committees spanning Early Discovery through Late-Stage Development and Registration.
• Oversee end-to-end meeting mechanics, including agendas, pre-reads, minutes, and action-item tracking.
• Align decision rights with corporate strategy and ensure clear committee charters and quorum standards.
• Prepare materials for executive committees and governance reviews in partnership with R&D leadership.
• Lead integrated portfolio prioritization with Corporate Strategy and Finance; monitor milestones and resource allocations.
