Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Senior Cloud & Database Architect for a 12-month remote role in Ireland. The candidate will own the migration of on-prem SQL Server databases to Azure SQL, managing tooling, cutovers, and architecture validation.

Required: 15+ years in cloud and database architecture with extensive Azure migration experience. Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred; experience with regulated environments and MySQL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in cloud and database architecture.
• Deep enterprise Azure migration experience (SQL Server → Azure SQL).
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
• Payments/regulatory environments and MySQL exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the SQL Server → Azure SQL migration strategy, tooling, and cutover approach to minimise downtime.
• Design database HA/DR using Always On, geo-replication, backup and failover.
• Independently review migration partner architectures and statements of work.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Bicep/Terraform within CI/CD pipelines.
