Job summary

Upland Software in Ireland is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to elevate quality across API, UI, and integration layers, with emphasis on maintainability and speed. You will own end-to-end test automation across SOAP and REST APIs, and web UI, using Playwright and SoapUI.

Collaborate with Dev, QA and DevOps to deliver reliable releases and scalable automation. The role involves integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging AI tools to accelerate design, triage failures, and communicate

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience testing SOAP and REST APIs across validation, auth, and error handling.
Experience with SoapUI including data-driven tests and CI execution.
Proficiency with Playwright for UI and API automation, including parallelization and flake control.
Ability to leverage AI tools to improve testing efficiency and stability.
Solid understanding of CI/CD and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting skills for automation failures and flaky tests.
Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows (PRs, reviews, branching).
Clear communication to translate findings into actionable risks.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end test automation across SOAP and REST APIs and web UI.
Design and implement robust test suites using Playwright and SoapUI.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable gated builds.
Triages and resolves automation failures, debugging network calls and data setup.
Establish quality signals and dashboards, communicating risks to stakeholders.
Champion best practices for test design, data management, and environment reliability.
Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and Support to ensure seamless releases.
Contribute to reusable frameworks for scalability across products.
