Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Python Engineer based in Ireland for a remote-first role with global teammates. You will design, develop, and maintain Python software spanning server infrastructure, web services, and tooling, while contributing to open-source communities and high-quality engineering practices.

You will work with Linux environments, Kubernetes, and various frameworks, while traveling roughly twice a year for in-person events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, STEM, or related discipline or equivalent background.
• Experience developing modern, maintainable Python software.
• Strong Python programming, design, testing, debugging, and code quality.
• Professional Linux experience, Debian/Ubuntu preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with emphasis on performance, reliability, maintainability and security.
• Excellent English communication and ability to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python software across various environments.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Debug complex issues, identify root causes, and implement robust fixes.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical leadership within teams.
• Develop automated tests and maintain thorough documentation.
• Promote quality practices and open-source collaboration.
• Travel to in-person events approximately twice a year.
