Job summary

Jobgether seeks an experienced Oracle DBA based in Ireland for a fully remote role. You will administer Oracle databases across 10g, 11g, 12c and 19c, and lead upgrades to 19c while working with Engineered Systems such as ODA and Exadata.

You will optimise performance, implement robust RMAN backup and recovery, ensure high availability with RAC and Data Guard, and support challenging client projects within a distributed consulting team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional Oracle DBA experience.
• At least 2 years with Oracle Engineered Systems (ODA/Exadata).
• Experience upgrading databases to Oracle 19c.
• Experience with database migrations and complex Oracle implementations.
• Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture and troubleshooting.
• Advanced Oracle performance tuning capabilities.
• Expert-level RMAN knowledge.
• Experience with RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, and compression.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Two operating systems knowledge (Linux/OEL, Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX).
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to provide accurate effort estimates and deliver on commitments.
• Ability to work in fast-paced consulting environments.
• Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science/related field.
• Cloud experience is desirable; remote work accepted.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle database environments across 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c.
• Support Oracle Engineered Systems (ODA/Exadata).
• Lead database upgrades to Oracle 19c.
• Design and execute database migrations with minimal disruption.
• Diagnose and tune database performance.
• Manage backup and recovery with RMAN to ensure DR readiness.
• Maintain high availability with RAC, Data Guard, and related technologies.
• Monitor environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Support operating system administration across at least two platforms.
• Contribute to client engagements, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and meet timelines.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.
