About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Developer to join a technology team responsible for delivering and supporting critical regulatory reporting systems across multiple regions.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader, combining strong Oracle development expertise with the ability to shape solutions, guide engineering teams and work closely with business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, development and delivery of complex regulatory technology solutions.
• Take ownership of end-to-end application development, ensuring solutions align with agreed architecture and technology standards.
• Work with distributed technology teams to plan and deliver software within an Agile environment.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across design, development and implementation activities.
• Develop reusable frameworks, interfaces, database components and other shared technology assets.
• Review existing solutions and identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, maintainability and efficiency.
• Conduct code and technical design reviews while promoting development best practices.
• Mentor and support engineers, helping to improve technical capability and development standards.
• Contribute to decisions around technology selection, development frameworks and engineering tooling.
• Support the definition and implementation of automated testing strategies.
• Promote high-quality software delivery throughout the full SDLC.
• Identify technical and delivery risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are implemented and tracked.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external technology partners where required.
• Investigate and resolve complex production and development issues.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10+ years' commercial software development experience, including significant experience in senior or technical leadership roles.
• Strong Oracle database and PL/SQL development experience at intermediate to advanced level.
• Experience with Informatica or similar data integration technologies.
• Good knowledge of Java and Spring development environments.
• Exposure to modern web technologies such as Angular.
• Experience with scheduling and batch-processing technologies such as Autosys.
• Strong experience developing reusable database components and enterprise-level solutions.
• Experience integrating applications with third-party or external vendor platforms.
• Good understanding of Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices and tools such as Jenkins.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and automated test execution.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working within structured enterprise technology environments, ideally financial services or another highly regulated industry.

Delivery & Leadership

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Practical experience using JIRA or comparable Agile delivery tools.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and translate architectural designs into practical implementation.
• Comfortable working with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively across geographically distributed teams.
• A proactive approach to improving engineering processes, quality and team productivity.

Remuneration Package

A strong rate is on offer for the successful candidate. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office each week in south Dublin.
