Job summary

GitLab seeks a Senior Absence Management Partner to lead GitLab's global time away programs, ensuring lawful and policy-compliant processes. You will guide leave journeys, coordinate with Payroll, Legal, and HRIS teams, and drive improvements through data-driven insights.

You will manage documentation, wage reporting to non-US payroll, and process enhancements across our worldwide workforce, leveraging AI to improve efficiency while protecting privacy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience administering global leave and accommodation programs.
• Ability to translate regulatory changes into policy and process updates.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and external partners.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and documenting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of GitLab's leave of absence programs, including documentation intake and wage reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies, processes, and handbooks.
• Track leave requests in HRIS and recommend improvements to compliance and reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for team members through departure, leave, and return-to-work processes.
• Resolve complex time away questions with stakeholders and partners.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functional HR projects like HRIS configuration and process redesign.
• Maintain and share policies to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze leave data to identify risks and inform resourcing decisions, using AI tools responsibly.
