Job summary

Vanta is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead strategic technical initiatives and scale products for privacy, AI governance, and risk management across Europe. You will partner with product, design, and growing engineering teams to drive discovery and development while maintaining a strong focus on security and data governance.

This remote-first role requires collaboration with teams in the UK/Ireland and occasional travel to London.

Qualifications

At least 10 years of industry experience as a software engineer.
Served as a technical lead for large projects (6+ months) across multiple teams.
Built and guided SaaS products in startup or enterprise contexts.
Experience mentoring and elevating engineering teams and culture.
Experience in fast-growing startups or high-bias-for-action environments.

Responsibilities

Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects that scale core products.
Design, develop, and own new functionality and infrastructure using modern frameworks.
Make tradeoffs balancing business priorities, UX, and technical health.
Set technical direction across multiple teams in privacy and AI governance domains.
Help grow the UK/Ireland footprint through hiring, onboarding, and mentoring.
Establish and nurture engineering practices to expand impact across teams.
