Job summary

Primer is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Data team, owning delivery of the data platform that powers Primer's unified payments infrastructure. You’ll oversee streaming, warehousing, modeling, and the pipelines in between, ensuring quality and pace while avoiding bottlenecks.

You’ll coach engineers, review designs for real-time systems, and ensure data contracts and models are production-ready. You’ll also own the growing ML function and shape its roadmap, partnering with Product and

Qualifications

• Experience leading a data engineering team and delivering end-to-end data platforms.
• Ability to review complex streaming and data modeling designs and trade-offs.
• Experience with ML engineering and leading ML-oriented initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery end-to-end across streaming, warehousing, modelling and pipelines.
• Coach engineers on career development, feedback, and performance.
• Review designs for real-time streaming systems and data models.
• Ensure reliable data contracts and downstream impact.
• Own the ML function's delivery and growth within the data org.
• Shape a roadmap with Product and engineering leadership.
• Drive operational excellence and cost visibility for the platform.
