Job summary

Jobgether (on behalf of a partner company) is seeking a Technical Leader (Fullstack Backend focused) in Ireland. You will shape backend architecture, set technical standards and drive the engineering roadmap while remaining hands-on.

You will lead a team of engineers, design scalable APIs and distributed systems using TypeScript and Node.js, collaborate with Product, Frontend and DevOps, and introduce AI-powered practices to boost velocity and quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend experience with 4+ in leadership
• Strong TS/Node.js with NestJS/Express.js
• Proven design/maintenance of scalable APIs & distributed systems
• Relational & non-relational databases, data modeling, query optimization
• Cloud infra experience (AWS) with containerization and CI/CD
• Event-driven architectures and messaging systems; Kafka is a plus
• Incorporates AI tools to improve speed, efficiency and quality
• Leads engineers, conducts code reviews, sets standards and direction
• Collaborates with frontend engineers and other stakeholders
• Focus on security, testing, observability, reliability and performance

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and establish coding standards
• Partner with Product, Frontend, DevOps to deliver scalable solutions
• Architect, develop and maintain backend services and APIs with TypeScript/Node.js
• Design systems for high availability, performance and security
• Own backend direction and roadmap balancing delivery with long-term maintainability
• Improve reliability via testing, monitoring, observability and incident management
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity and quality
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance the platform and processes
• Translate business requirements into robust backend architectures
