Job summary

MCLA is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our expanding team in Naas, Co. Kildare. The successful candidate will lead projects from inception to completion, manage multidisciplinary teams, develop client relationships and contribute to the practice's growth.

Qualifications

• RIAI Registered Architect with 5–7 years' post-qualification experience.
• Ability to lead projects independently with strong leadership and communication.
• Strong design and technical leadership across RIAI Work Stages.
• Experience with coordinating consultants and managing programs and resources.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with knowledge of contracting administration.
• Full driving licence and interest in AI/digital technologies.

MCLA is a growing architectural practice based in Naas, Co. Kildare, established in 2003. We are entering an exciting period of continued growth, with an expanding portfolio across Healthcare, Education, Residential, Public Sector, Commercial Fit-Out and Conservation projects.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading projects across all RIAI Work Stages
• Providing strong design and technical leadership
• Managing project programmes, resources and deliverables
• Coordinating consultants and subconsultants
• Chairing Client, Design Team and Site Meetings
• Managing client relationships and supporting repeat business
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members
• Contributing to the continued development and growth of the practice

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• RIAI Registered Architect
• Minimum 5-7 years' post-qualification / post-registration experience
• Ability to lead projects independently with strong leadership, project management and communication skills
• Strong construction-stage and contract administration experience
• Experience with RIAI and CWMF / Public Works Contracts
• Good knowledge of Planning, Building Regulations, BCAR and Health & Safety requirements
• PSDP and Assigned Certifier experience
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong creative design ability with a proactive and collaborative approach
• Full Driving License
• An interest in AI and emerging digital technologies would be advantageous
