Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers is seeking an experienced Retail Area Manager to oversee five diverse locations in Galway and Limerick. The role demands a commercially minded, hands-on leader who drives sales, profitability and operational excellence across specialist food shops, cheese counters, a cheese wall, and a wine bar.

You will lead Team Leaders and Cheesemongers, travel between sites, and maintain a strong on-site presence to ensure consistent Sheridans standards and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multiple retail/hospitality locations or multi-site operations.
• Experience delivering commercial KPIs including sales, gross margin and costs.
• Hands-on, shop-floor leadership with a willingness to coach and develop teams.
• Willingness to travel regularly between Galway and Limerick and stay hands-on on site.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial performance of all locations across Galway and Limerick.
• Drive sales growth, profitability and delivery of KPIs across sales, gross margin, labour costs and stock control.
• Review performance data, identify trends and take proactive action when targets are not met.
• Work with Team Leaders to increase sales, improve customer spend and maximise profitability.
• Optimise staffing and labour deployment while maintaining strong wage ratios.
• Build a culture of commercial awareness and accountability across retail teams.
• Maintain a regular and visible presence across all locations on the shop floor.
• Lead, motivate and develop Team Leaders and Cheesemongers across the region.
• Ensure high standards of visual merchandising and customer service across all locations.
• Oversee day-to-day operational performance and ensure HACCP compliance and relevant standards.
