Job summary

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) invites applications for Head of Region to drive grassroots football strategy and regional delivery. The role requires strategic leadership across multiple locations, managing relationships with Local Authorities, leagues and internal departments, and delivering high quality programmes in line with the Football Pathways Plan.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in strategic planning or operational delivery within sport or community development.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships including Local Authorities and community partners.
• Strong leadership experience with teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of grassroots football structures and community needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional plans aligned with the Football Pathways Plan.
• Provide leadership to Regional Leads to ensure high quality programme delivery.
• Use data and feedback to inform regional planning and resource allocation.
• Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and increased participation within the region.
• Lead engagement with Local Authorities to align regional objectives with community needs.
• Manage and report on Local Authority grant funding.
• Promote governance standards and regional integrity in grassroots football.
• Represent the FAI at regional forums, consultations and events.
