Job summary

MMD Construction Ltd in Cork is seeking a hands-on Project Coordinator to work with the Managing Director and senior management on refurbishment, fit-out, upgrade and development projects. The role involves coordinating several projects, contractors and suppliers while keeping progress, costs and decisions clearly updated.

You will travel between sites as required, attend sites, review quotations and ensure works are completed to scope, quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/project coordination; practical experience accepted.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Comfortable with site visits and on-site decisions.
• Full driving licence; willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Director on refurbishment, fit-out, upgrade and development projects.
• Take projects from an initial idea or brief and coordinate them through to completion.
• Attend sites, meet contractors and clearly communicate scope and required works.
• Obtain, review and compare quotations and provide cost information for approval.
• Coordinate contractors and trades including painters, electricians, joiners and more.
• Prepare and coordinate project schedules, sequencing works to minimise disruption.
• Source and order materials and other project requirements.
• Review samples, colours, finishes and product options for approval.
• Liaise with designers, consultants, contractors and suppliers regarding drawings and changes.
• Monitor works on site and ensure alignment with scope, quality and finish.
• Follow up on outstanding works and ensure timely close-out and handover.
• Track project costs and keep management informed of costs.
• Resolve day-to-day issues and escalate key decisions when required.
