Job summary

Talbot Hotel Midleton, part of the Talbot Collection, is recruiting a Receptionist to join our team. The role covers 4-5 shifts per week, with early to late hours and weekend availability. The Talbot Collection is recognised as a top workplace in hospitality for 2026.

Qualifications

• 1 year hotel reception experience or equivalent desired.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Willing to work variable shifts including weekends.
• Experience using Hotsoft would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests on arrival in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Handle guest check-in procedure.
• Know hotel services and facilities and communicate them to guests.
• Ensure charges are posted to guest bills correctly.
• Respond to guest queries by phone or in person in a professional manner.
• Meet guests' needs and requirements.
• Arrange setup of accounts for functions or events.
• Liaise with housekeeping regarding room allocation.
• Maintain floats at appropriate levels.

Talbot Hotel Midleton, part of the Talbot Collection are currently recruiting for a Receptionist to join our team.

This is a position covering 4 or 5 shifts per week, shifts will vary from early (7am start) to late (11pm finish) so ideal candidate will be available to work midweek and weekend shifts.

Main Duties:

• To greet guests on arrival in a warm and welcoming manner;
• To handle guest check in procedure;
• To have complete product knowledge of the hotel services & facilities and to communicate these to guests as required;
• To ensure that all charges are correctly posted to guest bills;
• To action all guest queries by phone or in person in a professional and friendly manner;
• To ensure that the guests needs and requirements are met;
• To ensure accounts are set up for functions or syndicates;
• To liaise with housekeeping with reference to the allocation of rooms;
• To ensure that all floats are maintained to the appropriate levels;

The successful candidate will have:

• 1 years' Hotel Reception Experience;
• Friendly and professional work attitude;
• Fluent English essential - written and spoken;
• Must be available to work variable shifts;
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• Experience in using Hotsoft would be a distinct advantage

This position will involve shift and weekend work.
