Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Site Representative to support planning, coordination, inspection, and assurance of rail infrastructure activities on projects in Ireland. The role includes an initial 6‑month onsite commission near Galway with safe oversight of ground investigations and surveys within live rail environments.

Over time, the role will involve progression toward NEC4 Assistant Supervisor duties, quality assurance, and contract awareness across rail and transport projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation for construction and rail projects.
• Understanding of contractual obligations and risk management.
• Understanding of rail infrastructure environments and interface management.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, surveys, ground investigations, specifications and testing.”

Responsibilities

• Act as the consultancy’s site representative during site investigations, surveys, and early works activities.
• Monitor ground investigations and topographical surveys for safety, efficiency, and compliance.
• Ensure temporary works interfaces and access controls align with approved documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, designers, and clients to safely deliver site activities and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate site records including inspection reports, permits, diaries, and non-conformances.
• Identify and escalate defects and unsafe conditions, supporting closeout with project team interfaces.
• Support contractor compliance with specifications, inspection and test requirements, and environmental obligations.
• Attend site inspections, safety reviews, and progress meetings with clear updates on delivery, safety, and quality.
