Job summary

Building Staff Solutions Ltd. is recruiting a Senior Engineering Surveyor to lead survey delivery on major rail infrastructure projects in Ireland. The role is split between site and office data processing, with mentoring responsibilities for junior staff.

The candidate will command control, topographical, setting-out and scanning surveys, read BIM models, and work with Civil 3D/TBC/Infinity/N4ce on complex projects. Dublin-based with hybrid site/office work.

Qualifications

• Solid background in rail or civil engineering surveying on complex infrastructure.
• Confident on total stations, GNSS, precise levels and scanners.
• Familiar with survey software such as Civil 3D, TBC, Infinity or N4ce.
• Comfortable reading engineering drawings and BIM models.
• Able to run several survey tasks at once and work on your own initiative.
• Qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or equivalent site experience.
• Rail environment experience, including safety-critical procedures and possession protocols.
• Experience with rail-specific gear such as Tacke, height and stagger, sidewear and rail profile gauges.

Responsibilities

• Lead control, topographical, setting-out, as-built, scanning and monitoring surveys.
• Set the survey approach and methodology on each project.
• Work from design drawings, specifications and BIM models to deliver accurate setting out on site.
• Process and validate field data, and produce the resulting drawings and reports.
• Work alongside engineering, design and construction teams to sort out technical issues as they come up.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support quality and safety standards across projects.
