Job summary

Apple is seeking an early-career Performance Engineer to help keep Radar fast at scale. You will design and run load and performance tests for Radar’s services, profile bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineers to verify fixes across teams in California, Texas, and Ireland.

You will ramp up with mentorship, training in Apple’s development practices, and opportunities to influence capacity planning and testing strategies for a high-traffic, business-critical system.

Qualifications

• Solid programming or scripting skills in Java, Python, or similar language.
• Understanding of how web services, databases, and networks affect application performance.
• Experience with version control (Git) and a working understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run load, stress, and performance tests for Radar services.
• Analyze results, profile services, and identify bottlenecks.
• Report findings clearly and work with engineers to verify fixes.
• Track performance trends across releases and flag regressions.
• Contribute to capacity planning and performance test strategy.
• Follow and help improve the team’s engineering best practices.
