Job summary

Amazon's AWS Rack Power team in Ireland designs and supports power equipment for data centers serving AWS services. You will troubleshoot massive power distribution systems and work directly with service owners and hardware design teams to resolve complex issues.

You will drive operational efficiency by root cause analysis, metrics development, and procedure creation. Experience in commissioning and data-center environments is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience in commissioning.
• Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
• 3 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and support massive power distributed systems.
• Escalate complex issues and provide guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with service owners and hardware design teams on hardware issues.
• Improve operational efficiency through root cause and trend analysis, SLA, metrics, and documentation.
• Proactively prevent support issues and participate in design reviews.
• Work with development and QA to improve change management lifecycle.
• Design and develop high performing scripts and applications.
• Share ideas with other Amazon leaders to improve support.
• Assist in driving industry-changing improvements.
