Job summary

Novax Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a hands-on role in Monaghan, Ireland. You will bridge estimating and commercial management, handling tenders, cost control, valuations and subcontract negotiations.

The position requires 5+ years in main contracting and experience with structural steel projects, with a Monday–Friday pattern and travel as needed. Join a team delivering major Irish steelwork projects.

Qualifications

• A background covering quantity surveying and estimating.
• Experience with tendering and cost control.
• Experience with commercial contracts and valuations.
• Experience on structural steel contracts.
• Experience working for a Main Contractor.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and liaise with clients, consultants and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders, measurements and estimates from enquiries through to submission.
• Manage contract costs from tender to final account.
• Monitor valuations, cash flow, cost reports and subcontract liabilities.
• Identify variations and commercial opportunities; assess risk and profitability.
• Negotiate sub-contractor and supplier quotations to optimise commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and site teams to align commercial and project delivery.
