Job summary

NexVentur in Galway is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our established construction and civil engineering team. You will play a key role across tendering, estimating and commercial management, working with clients, subcontractors and the project team.

We welcome early-career QS as well as experienced candidates; salary will be based on experience, with 5–6 years’ experience positioned for mid-level remuneration in the Galway market.

Responsibilities

• Preparing tender documentation and supporting the bid process.
• Preparing detailed estimates for awarded tenders.
• Pricing and forecasting material and project costs.
• Coordinating requests for quotations from the supply chain.
• Preparing and managing tender documents, contracts, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Procuring subcontractors, suppliers and services.
• Issuing and managing purchase orders.
• Monitoring project costs and budgets.
• Assessing subcontractor claims and payment applications.
• Negotiating rates with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Tracking design changes and updating cost projections.
• Supporting contractual claims and commercial analysis.
• Maintaining accurate tender and project records.
• Providing accurate cost information for monthly reporting and job costing.

NexVentur is recruiting – Quantity Surveyor

We’re currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction and civil engineering business.

The company is open to considering both early-career Quantity Surveyors and experienced candidates, with approximately 5–6 years’ experience also being considered.

Salary will be based on experience.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved across the tendering, estimating, procurement and commercial management of construction projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing tender documentation and supporting the bid process
• Preparing detailed estimates for awarded tenders

What we're looking for

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management / Construction
• Strong numerical and financial management skills
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Ability to analyse costs and produce accurate estimates
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams
• Good commercial awareness
• Ability to learn and work with relevant estimating and costing software

Both junior and experienced Quantity Surveyors will be considered.
