Job description

The Quality Assurance Lead will establish and lead a practical quality management framework across Project Delivery, Supplier/Contractor performance and Asset Operations. The role will support the Delivery team by ensuring that quality services provided by Project Management Assistance/Owner’s Engineer and other external parties are clearly defined, appropriately resourced, commercially recognised where additional scope is required, and delivered in line with project expectations. The role will help ensure quality standards are clearly defined, consistently applied and effectively monitored from development and construction through handover and into operational life.

This is a cross functional role focused on setting expectations, verifying compliance, escalating risks, improving processes and building quality capability across teams. Initial priorities will include making key supplier and project quality risks visible and standardising templates and reporting.

As the business grows, the role will move from directly managing quality activity to delegating routine checks, using dashboards and trend data, and driving improvements in supplier performance, handover quality and cost of poor quality.

You’ll play an important role in:

Protecting project and operational performance by ensuring Suppliers, Contractors, internal teams, processes, risks, NCRs, handovers and lessons learned are managed through a clear quality framework. You will help define and embed practical quality controls, support Delivery and Operations teams, and build quality capability across the business as it grows

Key deliverables and measures of success

  • Supplier assessment and monitoring process in place
  • NCR log, escalation route and corrective action tracking embedded
  • Risk-based audit plan and supplier monitoring schedule established
  • Project Quality Plan, Inspection Test Plans and handover templates standardised, coordinated and in use
  • Monthly quality dashboard/reporting live
  • Project Delivery to Asset Operations handover quality improvements
  • Lessons learned captured, communicated and embedded
  • Supplier/Contractor scorecards introduced
  • COPQ and recurring quality themes tracked overtime
  • Ad-hoc day-to-day support provided to delivery projects, including review and spot-checking of contractor quality documentation

To succeed in the role, you will need:

  • Strong quality management experience across projects, suppliers, and operations
  • Experience in renewable energy projects, preferably including solar and heavy civils works
  • Ability to develop practical processes, templates, and governance routines
  • Experience in NCR management, audits, supplier monitoring, and risk-based assurance
  • Ability to manage external quality consultants conducting ITP activity, including coordination, review, and follow-up of outputs
  • Confidence working with project managers, site managers, operations teams, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to influence others without personally owning every activity
  • Strong reporting, dashboarding and trend-analysis capability
  • Coaching mindset to build quality ownership across teams
  • Commercial awareness of cost, risk, handover quality, and supplier performance
  • Project management experience, with the ability to function as a link between Project Delivery and Asset Operations
