Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Lead to define and drive the quality strategy for the Building Services Business Unit. You will guide project teams, ensure adherence to Quality Plans and ITPs, and oversee documentation across multiple large-scale construction projects.

You will lead and coach QA/QC teams, manage NCRs and punch-list close-outs, and collaborate with clients during audits and reviews to achieve first-time quality delivery.

Qualifications

Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline would be advantageous
Experience in building services, M&E, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences or large-scale construction projects
Strong understanding of NCR, defect and corrective-action management

Responsibilities

Lead the Building Services Business Unit electrical quality strategy
Provide direction and support to project-based Electrical QA/QC teams
Ensure consistent electrical quality standards across all projects
Monitor performance through audits, inspections, KPIs and project reviews
Support project teams through construction planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover
Oversee Quality Plans, ITPs, inspection records and electrical quality documentation
Monitor NCRs, defects, rework and corrective actions, ensuring effective and timely close-out
Drive right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement
Support electrical completion, system turnover and commissioning readiness
Identify recurring quality issues and share lessons learned across the Business Unit
Support client audits, inspections and quality reviews
Coach and develop Electrical QA Leads, Engineers and Inspectors
Support supplier and subcontractor quality performance
Hold project teams accountable for quality performance and close-out
Escalate significant or recurring quality risks to Business Unit leadership

Requirements

Strong experience in Electrical QA/QC, Quality Management or Electrical Construction
A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline would be advantageous
Experience within building services, M&E, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences or large-scale construction projects
Strong technical understanding of electrical building services systems and installation requirements
Experience developing and managing Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Strong understanding of NCR, defect and corrective-action management
Experience with electrical completion, testing, commissioning and handover
Previous experience leading or supporting electrical QA/QC teams
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management capability
Ability to influence project and operational leadership
Willingness to travel regularly across Designer Group projects
Knowledge of LV electrical systems
Knowledge of distribution boards and switchgear
Knowledge of lighting and emergency lighting
Knowledge of small power systems
Knowledge of cable containment and cabling
Knowledge of fire alarm systems
Knowledge of earthing and bonding
Knowledge of electrical plant and equipment
Knowledge of controls and BMS interfaces
Knowledge of electrical installation inspections, testing and verification
Knowledge of quality documentation and traceability
