Job description

Deloitte is the world's number one professional services firm and making an impact is more than what we do. It is why we are here. We bring challenge, curiosity and edge to every project, driving positive progress for our clients, our people, our communities and the planet. This purpose inspires us to work to the highest standards and to tackle the challenges that matter. Number one never stops challenging.

In a market that demands a critical balance between accelerating performance and protecting long-term value, Deloitte stands as the world's leading professional services firm and a trusted strategic partner. We bring challenge, curiosity, and a provocative edge to every engagement - from high-stakes mergers and acquisitions to complex restructurings, valuations, and forensic investigations. By combining deep industry expertise with a global footprint, we empower our clients to navigate complexity, act decisively, and meet the rising demands for transparency. At Deloitte, we don't just follow conventional thinking; we unlock and preserve value in the moments that matter most.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €89,050.00 for this role, with salary adjustments reflecting your experience level and expertise.

Why you'll enjoy this new opportunity: Join Deloitte's Infrastructure & Real Estate Advisory team in a cost management function to work some of the most complex and strategically important capital projects in the market. This is a pivotal role where you'll drive continuous improvement in cost practices, shape how major projects, particularly data centre infrastructure, are planned, controlled, and delivered. You'll work at the intersection of strategy and execution, building strong client relationships while mentoring a growing team. If you thrive on solving complex cost challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and leaving a lasting impact on how organisations manage capital investment, this opportunity offers the platform to do exactly that.

Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position:
  • Extensive cost management experience in major capital projects, with proven expertise in cost control, budgeting, team management, and a strong track record in data centre or mission-critical infrastructure projects
  • Advanced proficiency in cost management and scheduling software (Primavera, Project Cost X, or equivalent) and advanced Earned Value Management techniques to track project performance, analyse cost and schedule variances, and deliver transparent progress reporting against established baselines
  • Professional accreditation (MRICS, MSCSI, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure Guidelines and Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF)
  • Experience advising clients on cost risks, value engineering opportunities, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution
  • Experience in large and mission critical infrastructure is a distinct advantage
  • Strategic leadership and client-facing excellence with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders, communicate complex cost data clearly, and position Deloitte as a strategic advisor while driving measurable outcomes and accountability
What type of work will I be doing?
  • Lead cost management strategy and practice development across projects, establishing standards, processes, and templates that drive consistency and continuous improvement across the division
  • Prepare, monitor, and control comprehensive project budgets and forecasts throughout the full project lifecycle from feasibility and business case development through final account settlement
  • Develop and maintain scalable cost management systems tailored to client requirements, and champion digital tools and innovation to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for all cost-related matters and demonstrating thought leadership in cost management, risk advisory, and value engineering
  • Advise on cost risks, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution, integrating with wider Deloitte teams to create robust business cases aligned to industry frameworks
  • Mentor and develop your team, promoting best practices in QS methodologies, professional standards, and embedding a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive cost database, capturing project costs, productivity metrics, and lessons learned to support accurate estimating and drive organisational capability
