Description du poste

Our client is a fast-growing engineering and construction consultancy focused on hyperscale data centres and mission-critical infrastructure. They provide both client-side and delivery-focused services, supporting clients through the full development lifecycle on some of the largest and most technically demanding facilities being built today.

From a strong base in Ireland, the business now delivers across Europe and internationally, working alongside leading operators and developers in one of the most active and capital-intensive sectors in construction. Their reputation rests on deep sector knowledge, technical credibility and a hands-on, partnership-led approach to client service.

The consultancy has grown rapidly and remains entrepreneurial in culture: decisions are made quickly, senior people have real autonomy, and good ideas are acted on. This newly strengthened leadership role reflects that growth and offers an experienced professional the opportunity to build and lead a core service line within the business.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

As Director of Project Controls & Cost, you will have senior leadership responsibility for cost management, project controls and reporting across a portfolio of technically complex data centre projects. You will set standards and methodologies, ensure consistency and quality across commissions, and act as a trusted adviser to clients on cost, programme and risk.

The role is strongly client-facing. You will work directly with operators, developers and their delivery teams, giving clear, data-led insight that underpins investment and delivery decisions.

Projects are large-scale and fast-moving, typically involving multiple stakeholders, phased delivery and demanding programmes across a range of European and international locations.

You will lead and develop a team of cost and controls professionals, building capability as the business continues to scale. For someone who enjoys both technical depth and building something, this is a rare chance to shape a service at senior level within a business that is growing alongside the data centre market itself.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide senior leadership across cost management, project controls and reporting on hyperscale data centre and mission-critical projects
  • Set and embed project controls and cost management standards, tools and methodologies across the business
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients on budgets, cost planning, forecasting, programme and risk
  • Oversee cost reporting, change control, earned value and performance reporting across multiple commissions
  • Lead procurement and commercial advice under NEC, FIDIC and bespoke forms of contract
  • Build, lead and mentor a growing team of cost and project controls professionals
  • Support business development, proposals and client relationships to grow the service line
  • Contribute to the wider strategic direction of the business as part of its senior leadership team
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Extensive experience in cost management and/or project controls within construction or engineering
  • Substantial data centre experience, ideally on hyperscale or mission-critical projects (essential)
  • Proven senior leadership experience, currently at Director, Associate Director or Head of level
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, forecasting, scheduling, risk and earned value
  • Experience of client-side or consultancy delivery, with confidence advising senior client stakeholders
  • Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC forms of contract
  • Chartered status (MRICS or MSCSI) is beneficial
WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN

This role offers a salary of €150,000, together with a senior-level benefits package. Beyond the package, it is a long-term career platform: you will lead a core service line within an entrepreneurial consultancy at the forefront of one of construction’s fastest-growing markets, with direct client exposure, an international portfolio and accelerated progression, including a clear route towards board-level responsibility as the business continues to scale.
