Job summary

Abbott Ireland Vascular Division Clonmel is seeking a Technical/Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing by implementing corrective and preventative actions, and to develop methods and procedures to improve processes in collaboration with engineering teams.

You will learn to analyze data, identify manufacturing issues, train operators on basic processes, and participate in root-cause investigations to drive yield improvements and cycle-time reductions within a controlled quality system.

Qualifications

• NFQ level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices in a quality system environment.
• Performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments with standard methods.
• Regularly presents findings to cross-functional teams and documents disposition.
• Mentors new team members and maintains open communication across shifts and functions.
• Plans, organises, and prioritises daily work to meet schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists engineering in providing manufacturing support by learning to analyse data and identify manufacturing issues and trends.
• May train operators on basic processes and changes, and perform operator certification and testing.
• Identify manufacturing issues by working with engineering to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Dispositions non-conforming material using quality tools and manufacturing knowledge.
• Assist in process improvements and validation studies to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
• Support process development during new product introduction with traceability, inspection criteria, and training materials.
