Position Overview
This internship offers hands-on onsite experience supporting the delivery of the Solar or Wind Farm projects. Working closely with the project engineering and construction teams, the intern will assist with QA/QC activities, site documentation, inspections, progress tracking, and coordination of civil and mechanical engineering works. The role is ideal for a civil or mechanical engineering student who is eager to gain practical project delivery experience in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the onsite project engineering team with day-to-day QA/QC activities on the project.
- Assist with site inspections, quality checks, snagging, and follow-up actions across civil and mechanical works.
- Help maintain accurate QA/QC records, inspection forms, photos, reports, and project documentation.
- Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, method statements, and project quality requirements under
supervision.
- Support progress tracking and coordination between site teams, subcontractors, and project engineers.
- Attend site meetings and contribute updates on QA/QC status, inspections, and outstanding actions.
- Assist with health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance activities on site.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site operatives to resolve queries and support smooth project delivery.
- Bring a proactive, organised, and hands-on attitude, with a willingness to learn and ask questions where requirements are unclear.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a civil or mechanical engineering degree, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Interest in construction, renewable energy, wind farm projects, project engineering, and onsite delivery environments.
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in quality assurance, quality control, inspections, and documentation.
- Good communication, teamwork, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A full, clean driver’s licence is needed due to the onsite nature of the role.
- Own transport is preferred, as regular access to the project site will be required.
- Being based near the project site would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with the right attitude and commitment.
- Comfortable working in an active construction site environment and following site safety procedures.
- Self-motivated, reliable, eager to learn, and passionate about renewable energy and practical engineering experience.
