Job summary

Greenvolt Next Ireland is seeking a Solar QA/QC Engineer to ensure all construction and installation works on solar PV projects meet quality standards, specifications, and regulations. The role involves establishing QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, and supporting commissioning with complete QA/QC documentation.

You will maintain up-to-date test reports, NCRs, punch lists, as-built drawings, and quality logs, identify non-conformities, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years QA/QC experience in solar PV or renewable energy EPC projects.
• Knowledge of IEC, EN, ISO standards (esp. ISO 9001).
• Irish/EU driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project QA/QC plans per contract and ISO standards.
• Conduct on-site quality inspections of civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, method statements and ITPs.
• Perform inspections and testing on PV modules, inverters, transformers, cabling, etc.

Greenvolt Next Ireland is looking for a Solar QA/QC Engineer, to be esponsible for ensuring that all construction and installation works on solar PV projects comply with quality standards, technical specifications, and applicable regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and enforcing QA/QC procedures, performing inspections, and supporting the commissioning process to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans in accordance with contract requirements and ISO standards
• Conduct on-site quality inspections of civil, mechanical, and electrical works including module mounting, cabling, trenching, inverter installation, and grid connection aspects
• Ensure compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and ITPs
• Perform inspections and testing on materials and installations (e.g., PV modules, inverters, transformers, cable insulation resistance, string testing, torque settings)
• Maintain up-to-date documentation including test reports, NCRs, punch lists, as-built drawings, and quality logs
• Identify and manage non-conformities and coordinate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions
• Liaise with contractors, site managers, and client representatives to ensure all works meet quality standards
• Support the commissioning and handover process with complete QA/QC documentation packages
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and proposing quality enhancements

Education/Professional Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
• Minimum 3 years' QA/QC experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects; EPC experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Irish and EU construction standards, regulations, and best practices for solar projects
• Familiar with IEC, EN, and ISO standards (especially ISO 9001)
• Experience with BESS or hybrid renewable energy projects
• Certification in Quality Management or similar (e.g., IRCA, CQI)
• Experience with SCADA and monitoring systems
• Proficient in MS Office and quality management systems (QMS); experience with SharePoint is an advantage
• Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment
• Valid Irish (EU) driver's license and flexibility to travel to project sites
