Job summary

Life Science Recruitment seeks a high-calibre Purchasing Manager to lead procurement for a major multinational client in Co. Waterford. This strategic role focuses on delivering value through sophisticated sourcing, supplier management, and agile processes during growth and acquisitions.

You will drive SAP S/4 HANA and Coupa implementations, harmonise category strategies across business units, and mentor a procurement team to excel in direct and indirect spend.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement experience, ideally in Life Science
• Proven leadership experience in a multinational or complex corporate structure
• Degree in Technical or Business discipline, preferably Supply chain
• Proficiency with SAP SCM, Ariba and Power BI
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Role Overview

You will be the lead procurement representative for the Irish market, bridging the gap between local operations and global strategy. Your focus will be on delivering value through sophisticated sourcing, while ensuring that procurement processes remain agile during periods of growth and acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the procurement team to ensure alignment with business priorities.
• Manage the supplier base for a range of direct and indirect category areas with a particular focus on laboratory informatics, software licensing, and telecommunications.
• Conduct comprehensive market assessments and lead high-value negotiations.
• Support the rollout and daily operation of SAP S/4 HANA and Coupa.
• Collaborate with global teams to execute harmonised category strategies.
• Oversee the procurement aspects of new business integrations.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in procurement, ideally gained within the Life Science sector.
• Proven procurement leadership experience within a multinational or complex corporate structure.
• Degree in appropriate Technical or Business discipline, preferably in Supply chain
• Proficiency in tools such as SAP SCM, Ariba, and Power BI
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
