Job summary

Jacksons Leisure Centre is seeking a qualified Personal Trainer to join our leisure team. You will deliver 1-to-1 PT, develop personalised plans, conduct assessments and promote services to members and hotel guests. You will also perform general leisure centre duties ensuring a clean, safe, welcoming environment.

The role is advertised as part-time with potential to grow to full-time, and you’ll work within a busy hotel leisure setting with a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Personal Training/Fitness Instructor qualification.
• Good understanding of health, safety and safe exercise practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional 1-to-1 personal training sessions to members and guests.

PT with Leisure Centre Attendant Duties

Jacksons Leisure Centre are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Personal Trainer to join our Leisure Centre team.

This is a varied role that combines personal training and fitness instruction with the day-to-day operation of our Leisure Centre. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering a welcoming, professional and safe experience for our members, hotel guests and visitors.

We want you to help build our Gym Memberships, provided fun and effective 1:1 PT or small group classes. Your role will also include General Leisure Centre Duties.

This is advertised as a Part Time Role but would love to develop this to a Full Time Role.

About the role

Key Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Deliver professional and engaging 1-to-1 personal training sessions to members and guests.

• Develop personalised fitness programmes based on individual goals, abilities and fitness levels.

• Conduct fitness assessments and provide ongoing support and motivation to clients.

• Promote the Leisure Centre's fitness and wellness services and encourage member engagement.

• Provide advice and guidance on exercise techniques and safe use of gym equipment.

• Carry out general Leisure Centre duties, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, welcoming and well presented at all times.

• Monitor the gym, pool and leisure facilities and ensure members and guests follow Leisure Centre rules.

• Complete routine cleaning, safety and facility checks.

• Report maintenance, safety or equipment issues promptly to the Leisure Centre Manager.

• Assist with opening and closing procedures.

• Provide excellent customer service to members, hotel guests and visitors.

• Support the Leisure Centre Manager and wider team with the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility.

• Work as part of a flexible team and assist with other reasonable duties required for the effective operation of the Leisure Centre.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Qualified as a Personal Trainer and/or holds a recognised fitness qualification.

• Passionate about health, fitness and helping others achieve their goals.

• Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with members and guests.

• Professional and customer-focused.

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable, flexible and willing to undertake general Leisure Centre duties.

• Safety-conscious with good attention to detail.

• Confident in demonstrating exercises and using gym equipment.

• Previous experience working in a hotel, gym, leisure centre or similar environment would be an advantage.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Recognised Personal Training / Fitness Instructor qualification.

• Good understanding of health, safety and safe exercise practices.

Desirable:

• Current Pool Lifeguard qualification.

• Swim Teaching qualification.

• First Aid qualification.
