Job summary

Clanree Hotel in Donegal, Ireland, is recruiting Leisure Centre Attendants to join our on-site team. We seek friendly, reliable, and motivated individuals with a passion for customer service and fitness to help run our leisure facilities.

Key duties include keeping the leisure centre clean and safe, supervising gym users, handling reception tasks and memberships, promoting services, and supporting pool operations. Previous experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in leisure, fitness or hospitality desirable.
• Friendly and professional attitude.
• Basic computer and administrative skills.
• Pool Lifeguard, First Aid or Fitness Instructor qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Leisure Centre to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and hygiene procedures throughout the facility.
• Provide a welcoming, professional service to all members and guests.
• Supervise gym area and promote safe fitness practices.
• Carry out reception duties including bookings and memberships sign-ups/ renewals.
• Assist with sales and promotion of memberships and leisure services.
• Support daily operations of pool, gym and other leisure facilities.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to the Duty Manager.
• Participate in regular training on safety procedures and customer service standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure the Leisure Centre is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times.
• Follow and enforce health & safety regulations and hygiene procedures throughout the facility.
• Provide a welcoming, professional, and helpful service to all members and guests.
• Supervise and assist members in the gym area, ensuring safe use of equipment and promoting good fitness practices.
• Carry out reception duties including greeting guests, answering queries, managing bookings, and handling membership sign-ups and renewals.
• Assist with sales and promotion of memberships and leisure services in a friendly, customer-focused manner.
• Support the daily operations of the pool, gym, and other leisure facilities as required.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Duty Manager.
• Participate in regular training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety procedures and customer service standards.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a leisure, fitness, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
• A friendly and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Basic computer and administrative skills.
• A recognised Pool Lifeguard, First Aid, or Fitness Instructor qualification would be an advantage.
