Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Project Manager to join one of our client's construction teams in the Cork region.
This is a key leadership role with overall responsibility for the coordination, management and successful delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the required specification and quality standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the coordination, management and successful delivery of the project.
- Lead and supervise the project team in the implementation and delivery of all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for the client, maintaining strong and professional client relationships throughout the project.
- Maintain ongoing liaison with the design team to ensure all design and technical requirements are effectively managed and delivered.
- Ensure all technical requirements, drawings, specifications and project standards are achieved.
- Take overall responsibility for the management and coordination of subcontractors.
- Ensure all subcontractor activities and interfaces are properly coordinated to meet project requirements and programme milestones.
- Maintain overall responsibility for project delivery on site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
- Review and monitor the construction programme and develop and manage the Information Requirement Schedule.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with the project team to ensure key programme milestones are achieved.
- Attend site meetings, progress meetings, client meetings and specialist subcontractor meetings as required.
- Coordinate the gathering and approval of all necessary licences, permits, statutory approvals and other requirements to facilitate the smooth running of the project.
- Identify and resolve project issues promptly, working collaboratively with the project team, client, design team and subcontractors.
- Promote a positive culture of safety, quality, teamwork and continuous improvement throughout the project.
Requirements
- Relevant third-level qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Project Manager or senior construction management role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, sequencing and site operations.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple project stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, drawings and technical requirements.
- Excellent programme management and organisational skills.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project resources and deliver within agreed budgets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- A valid Safe Pass and relevant construction-related qualifications.
