Job summary

MMD Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction projects in Cork, reporting to the Contracts Manager. You will drive delivery, coordinate design teams, manage resources, and ensure safety, quality and budget alignment across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years in a similar role, a third-level qualification in construction, excellent communication, leadership skills and the ability to multitask while meeting key milestones.

Qualifications

• Engineering background is desirable and relevant Construction discipline degree is required.
• At least 5 years in a similar project management role.
• Ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risks, and programme.

Responsibilities

• Management, coordination and execution of the scope of works for projects, meeting EHS, design, technical and commercial objectives.
• Coordinate, monitor and review construction drawings, specifications and work requirements.
• Allocate and manage resources to ensure availability throughout the project.
• Determine necessary equipment, materials and manpower.
• Manage quality control and project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure material and equipment are ordered and delivered to schedule.
• Prepare reports using Project Management software.
• Modify and update the project programme with senior management to meet milestones.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation and BC(R).
• Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and core project team.

About the Role:

MMD Construction are seeking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Project Manager to join our growing team in Cork. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of the project, adhering to budget, timeline, safety and quality standards.

• Responsibility for the management, coordination and execution of the scope of works for projects, whilst meeting the project objectives set out for EHS, design, technical, quality, programme and commercial.
• Coordinate, monitor and review construction drawings, specifications and work requirements.
• Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects.
• Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed.
• Manage quality control for the lifecycle of the project and ensure all project documentation is managed correctly.
• Ensure material and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
• Prepare reports on Project Management Software.
• Modify and update the project programme with senior management to ensure key milestones are met.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
• Ensure compliance with BC(A)R.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team.

Qualifications:

• Third Level Qualification in relevant Construction Discipline.
