Job summary

ERSG Ltd in Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Design to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects from feasibility through construction support, focusing on renewable energy and utility schemes.

You will coordinate civil, structural and electrical design teams, manage programmes and budgets, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure quality control, compliance with procedures, and safe delivery on site travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 5+ years delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure, utilities or renewables projects.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships from initiation to completion.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using MS Project and MS Office.
  • Experience in large-scale utility, transmission, distribution or renewable energy projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of multidisciplinary design projects from tender award through design completion and construction support.

  • Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, quality and H&S teams to ensure compliance.

About the Role

An established engineering and infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Design to join its growing multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of renewable energy and utility infrastructure design projects from initial feasibility through to construction support.

The position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to project sites and stakeholder meetings as required.

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will oversee project delivery, coordinate design activities, and ensure seamless collaboration between design and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary design projects from tender award through design completion and construction support.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, and electrical design teams to achieve programme milestones.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key project stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Oversee the flow of technical information between design teams, contractors, and site personnel.
  • Review design documentation and drawings to ensure quality and compliance before issue.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and design queries throughout project delivery.
  • Support the preparation of technical information for tender submissions where required.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, quality, and health & safety teams to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Attend design coordination meetings and project sites when required to support successful delivery.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5+ years' experience delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure, utilities, or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships from project initiation through completion.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience within large-scale utility, transmission, distribution, or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with design management processes and construction support activities.
  • Knowledge or experience of PSDP responsibilities is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
